I found this cute pattern at my local quilt fabric shop and thought it would be a great project to practice a little free-motion quilting. (https://www.sewnwyoming.com/shop/zipit)
For the fabric, I chose Wonder by Carrie Bloomston from Windham fabrics, which has pretty collage butterflies and little colored triangles. Then I found some coordinating bright solid fabrics and zipper to add some pop.
The pattern is fairly easy to cut and assemble, so I spent most of my time concentrating on the free-motion quilting. I quilted in my favorite loopy squiggle, and included some flowers along the way.
I modified the pattern by not including the backing fabric in my quilt sandwich until after quilting, so the inside of the pouch has no quilting and is just plain fabric.
I think it turned out so cute and is the perfect size to fit my sewing supplies. What a fun afternoon project for a rainy spring day!
