This is a fun little pillow to celebrate the hot days of summer, with a Malachite butterfly design printable, and a base of fringed duck canvas. Duck canvas fabric is a fun material to use because of it’s durability and a great base for colorful fabric pairings. And because of its linen roots, it’s also great for creating fringe. The weave is loose enough, that it’s fairly easy to pull the thread by hand and make an easy fun effect. For this Butterfly Pillow Pattern, I started with one of my photos from a trip to the…
I found a cute pattern tutorial, the Mini Card Wallet, on a great blog website called loganberryhandmade.com. This website by Susie Ledadom has lots of projects with beautiful photos to inspire an afternoon of sewing fun. The pillows are super cute and just like the real spinners, but they spin around your arm. They wanted to make them, and I thought it was a great idea – a great way to get them off the screens and using their creativity! We went to the fabric store and each picked the color of fleece fabric and felt for their pillows. Then we followed the directions on the video to make our templates, traced them onto the fabric, and cut…
