I absolutely love this Enchanted Ocean Collection by Crafters Companion! It’s my new favorite and I was inspired to make so many cards. The collection is filled with ocean element dies and stamps, pretty “illusion film” to create iridescent backgrounds inside the intricate die cuts, and the most gorgeous papers. Each paper is filled with layers of ocean creatures and coral in a beautiful color palette.
To start, I like to stamp, color and cut a whole bunch of embellishment elements to build my card layouts. My favorites of this collection are the coral die cuts (cut in various shades of coordinating colors of card stock and mirror card), the jelly fish die cuts backed with iridescent illusion film (so unique!), and sentiments in fun fonts and clever puns.
Then I use the coordinating linen card to create the card bases – some in special folding techniques like this top fold card with an extra step in the front to add coral and shells in the foreground for added dimension.
This fold back card has a pretty shell edgeable die cut for the turtle to swim through to the underwater castle in the background. So magical!
How about a shaker card with ocean blue sequins around a happy blue whale? Yes please!
Shells and coral are layered in the front, middle and background in front of tropical fish swimming around a birthday wish.
Two more mermaids on a coral filled stepper card and a tent fold card make pretty scenes. See the fish peeking out from the dark ocean waters behind the mermaid? And the little crab crawling out from the coral? So fun!
Simple cards are extra beautiful with added background paper in the insides.
I even used the scraps from the coral die cuts and illusion film to make little crafty reefs for my stamped seahorses.
I love crafting diorama cards with embellishments in the foreground and pretty ocean scenes in the background. These still can fold flat for mailing.
I had so much fun with this collection, and I hope these cards inspire you to craft some enchanted ocean cards for yourself. Happy crafting!
