I’ve been crafting like mad for our annual Christmas bazaar at our church, and having a lot of fun in the process. I think my mesh wreath skills are improving – I tried a couple with sparkle and a couple with muted burlap tones. All in the classic colors of red and green. These four are all made on a 14 inch wreath base for a nice large finished size with lots of fluff.
For my personal taste, I like the burlap mesh and ribbon paired with the more muted Christmas tones. I think they have a little rustic farmhouse vibe.
It’s also fun to bust out the sparkle and add some gold for some pop!
Dollar Tree mesh works better on the smaller 8 inch wreath bases. I added these cute red & white candy ornaments to one and a little red Christmas bird into a bright bow on the other.
To use up a few leftover floral pieces, I put together a simple spray with a cute Dollar Tree wooden tag. And don’t you just love the candy cane shape wreath base? It’s from Dollar Tree and works great with mesh and a big black and white chalkboard look bow.
How about a Dollar Tree snowman mug filled with greenery and a couple frosted candy picks – perfect for an easy teacher gift. Or a gnome wooden ornament sign with a whimsical floral spray in bright blue.
I’ve had these Christmas tree wooden sleds for a few years, and finally stained and distressed them to create a rustic base for a pretty floral spray and Christmas tags.
For a new style, I tried adding a giant bow and floral spray to grapevine wreaths. I like how it makes such a big impact – so different than the mesh style.
I hope these inspire you to try some crafty decor for your home this Christmas. Happy Holidays!
