Here’s a super easy Valentine’s Day tutorial to make a beautiful wreath full of roses. I think these large foam flowers are an amazing find at the Dollar Tree. I just love how this turned out and how quickly it came together with minimal supplies and time. It will add a lovely touch to any decor!
Supplies:
4 Dollar Tree packages of large foam roses (I chose four colors but one or two would also look great. Dollar Tree also has white roses.)
1 Dollar Tree eight inch wreath ring
2 strips of scrap fabric
Glue gun
Start by wrapping the wreath ring in the fabric strip to cover up the dark metal. I added a little glue about every four wraps, so the fabric won’t slide around.
Continue wrapping, adding a second strip if needed until all the ring is covered. Secure the end with glue.
Start hot gluing the flowers onto the fabric ring. I used multi-temp glue sticks which didn’t seem to completely melt the foam. Some tips are to use plenty of hot glue, but hold the ring in the air when adding the foam flowers, so the extra glue doesn’t stick it to the table (I know this from experience!) Also plan your flower placement by adding sets of the four colors in the same order each time. The flowers fall somewhat into two rings (inside and outside) so alternate where the colors fall with each set.
You can see here how I started at the right with red, purple, coral, pink. Then you see for the second and third sets, I still kept the same order, but switched them from the inside and outside of the ring. Next I’ll add the coral and pink to finish the third set.
With this eight inch size wreath ring, four sets of foam roses fill it perfectly! So bright and cheerful – it makes me smile. I hope you have a wonderful Valentine’s Day filled with love.
