Hummingbird Card Gallery – with Beautiful Dimension and Embellishments

After one look at this Hummingbird Collection by Crafter’s Companion, I knew I would love crafting with all the beautiful elements. The imagery on the papers and stamps, combined with the tropical color palette easily came together into gorgeous projects. I started by stamping out a bunch of hummingbird and flower stamps on colored paper and watercolor paper. Then I used my favorite Aqua Markers in bright fun colors, keeping the coloring loose and using some simple shading to add dimension. After die cutting them out, they were ready to embellish my card bases. The ideas just kept…

Crafting Inspirational Cards for Men Using Dollar Tree Stickers

I always struggle to create cards for men, so when I found these cute puffy metallic seaside stickers at the Dollar Tree, I knew they would be perfect for what I needed. They also come in musical instruments, hot air balloons, tropical, home & family, and many more themes. Using red for the mushrooms and complemented with green on the ferns and a bright blue sky just makes it pop. The first card above is literally just the lovely stamp with a dragonfly on some foam pads to add a little dimension. In the next version, I tried…

Beginners Tutorial: Coloring with Spectrum Noir TriBlend Alcohol Markers

Another crafting technique I learned in 2020 is coloring with alcohol markers. Wow is it fun! Smooth blending to add dimension to stamped images that can coordinate with patterned papers – making a beautiful card topper. Last year I purchased a small set of TriBlend Markers by Spectrum Noir. These are great for coloring beginners like me because they have three color shades in one marker – light, medium, dark – for a super simple way to add 3D shading to any stamp. It takes adult coloring to the next level. After completing each little item, I’m wowed…
